This was a comment reply I made on a video on www.frankvaughan.ca that I decided I should share with you here.
--------------------- Careful Frank you’ll lose out on those truckloads of cash you were getting from the PPC 😉 So how many emails and messages did you get saying that Max and the PPC will fire you over the comments you made. I’ve been separated from our local association for a month and a half and there are people who still think that I care what the PPC thinks about my personal opinions. It bothered me (it doesn’t anymore) that in the last 5 months the only emails I got from Max were just repeating what he said publicly but making sure to add the pitch for donating at the end of each. Donating to what? We never received a dime from PPC HQ last year (association or campaign). I asked several times for, at least, the membership dues from our riding members who joined through HQ but they wouldn’t even cough up the $0 to $1,500 to support our local association. Not one dime! It was only thanks to me, Justin, and a few loyal members that our association was able to keep going and I was able to run in the election (I’m still about $2,000 in debt over it all). I tried to maintain my role with the PPC for the first months of this year. I even, with my health issues, tried to apply for the position of Regional coordinator that opened up after the election. I suggested it in an email and they replied that if I was interested to just let them know so they could get the ball rolling. They sent me the outline of the position responsibilities. So, like any job that requires a lot of thought to accept I took days (including Sat/Sun) to think about it. I asked a couple of my friends about it, weighed the pros and cons, and on the 5th day sent an email stating I was interested. With no application process, with no back and forth, I got an email back stating I had ‘taken too long to decide and they’d filled the position’ already. A position that was barely advertised. A VOLUNTEER position no less. The new guy emailed me asking for my info and any info of our executive. The HQ didn’t give him that? He didn’t even think to check on Elections Canada where the names and numbers are all listed? And this guy was “very qualified”? Who is in charge up there? I never received a call from Max after the election, not that I wanted it. I hate talking on the phone. But months and months later I get an email asking if I’ve been called. You can’t keep track?? Print a list of candidates and cross their names off when you call. Like I said I don’t want a call but if you had more “people” in the Party there’d be more completion of tasks and moving forward. All the momentum we gained before and with the election has been lost in the last six months. I spent $1,500+ on the Party (association), about $122 on Party and $$$ all of my own money on the election last year and I’m still being hit up every week for $2 or $3 or whatever. For what? Same as during the build-up to the election. Our local members were constantly hit up for money by Max and the HQ taking it away from our local association. That would have been okay if our local association got a piece of the pie but we didn’t. After the incident over the new position, I sat down to weigh the pros and cons of being an executive of the PPC association locally. Adding to my health issues I decided that I needed to step down and focus on my own health while having the freedom and platform (social media) to express myself freely without worrying about what anyone thought about it. I am very disappointed in the 2020 trend of the PPC. I have yet to see the “People” in the People’s Party of Canada since the election (and not much before it). It has taken a year and still no Constitution, a year and still no structure, no updated guidelines, no financial support. It has been 6 months and just at the end of last month did they finally re-structure the Party HQ and consider getting the lower tiers. I spoke to the person who replaced me as President/CEO and they have yet to hear if they’ve even been accepted or not. A “copy-paste” is the best description I’ve heard for the PPC 2020. The tweets from “Max” last year were horrible at times (especially during the Greta and abortion debates) and I expressed that a couple times. We found ourselves as candidates and the association scrambling to defend ourselves or have a position on the latest “Max” tweet. We didn’t even get a heads up to what was coming before BAM! here you go now explain why “Max” said it. I guess on the flip side at least “Max” (the twitter) had his own opinion separate from other “people” in the Party. I don’t speak for Max or for the PPC, I speak for Canada – the Canada that I want and I hope others do too and that’s my path forward in 2020. As for China. The United States (Trump) doesn’t want a Canada dependent on foreign nations like China. I believe Trump wants Canada to be a strong nationalist country. He doesn’t want to deal with weaklings, he respects and wants trade with strength. A strong Canadian neighbour contributes to US security. A weak Canada puts the US at risk. The US will see Canada as a risk as long as we allow Communist China to continue to infiltrate our cities and destabilize our economy. I place blame in our leadership AND the US for the position we are in today. If American businesses did not leave Canada it would not have created voids for China to walk right in. Kevin M. Klerks
